Curtain poles consist of a number of components which can normally be ordered as a set as well as individually. The main component is the curtain pole
- which can often be corded. Finials are fitted onto the end of the poles as a decorative treatment. Midials are decorative
treatments that are fitted in the centre of the pole and sometimes double up as the centre bracket. Most curtain poles are supplied with 3
brackets, one on each end and one in the middle. For thicker poles or narrower windows it is often unnecessary to fit the centre bracket.
Brackets can be ceiling or wall mounted (top or front fixed), most brackets are not suitable for both.
Some longer poles are supplied with 5 or more brackets which will mean the curtains will not fully draw unless passing curtain rings are used.
These have a 'C' section allowing them to pass mounting brackets. Typical curtains would have one curtain ring for every 10cm of width.
A 2m curtain pole would have 20. When fitting curtain poles remember to place 1 curtain ring between the finial and bracket on each side.
This will restrain the outside edge of the curtain whilst being drawn.
